In the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam, 100 questions will be asked for 200 marks. The total time allotted for this section is 1 hour.

Tier 1 is compulsory for all the candidates appearing for the SSC CGL exam. Only the candidates who clear Tier I will be eligible to appear in the Tier II exam.

in Tier-I, there will be a negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer and In Tier-II, there will be a negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.
