The RBI Grade B Phase 1 examination is an online objective test consisting of 200 questions for 200 marks. The total duration is 120 minutes (2 hours). This phase acts as a screening test, and candidates who qualify move to Phase 2. A penalty of 0.25 marks is deducted for each incorrect answer.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 is a descriptive examination consisting of three papers with a total of 300 marks. Each paper is conducted separately with its own time duration. All three papers are descriptive in nature and test the candidate's writing skills, subject knowledge, and analytical abilities.
